Holidays and End of the Year planning!
New year, new life, new plans! How ready are you for the days – and months – to come?
As an entrepreneur, I totally understand how changes are ironically so constant. But this is also exactly the reason why, in our business, we plan out on a monthly basis. We don’t plan too far out because we just end up adjusting the plans anyhow. With this setup, you will be able to gain more leverage in deciding which direction your business goes.
Why create a marketing plan in the first place?
If you don’t have a marketing plan, you’re missing out. You don’t know what you’re going to talk about in your Instagram stories, newsletters, and other social media portals. And without the plan, your business goals will be held up. In essence, marketing makes the shift in your business. It helps you get sales while at the same time educating people on a daily basis.
So let me share with you the ways that I prefer to create my marketing plan for me and my clients, and hopefully, this helps you out, too!
1. List content per month.
I intentionally sit down on this one and write about content that is worth four to five weeks of discussion. The contents could follow what is most needed or celebrated each month.
2. Identify an overarching topic for each week.
Once I have identified a monthly theme, I pick a topic for the week. This topic depends mostly on what my guests and I are discussing. We could talk about boundaries, hashtags, marketing, or something that is overall involved in my business but also involved with things that I love, such as: mindset, management, social media, and mental health.
3. Arrange the week’s topic as sales funnel.
The sales funnel gives you a picture of starting a topic for a general audience funnel as starting with those people who like and react to your social media posts. Then, each day you create posts that will push them further to get to know how you could possibly help them until they decide whether they will make a deal with you or not.
4. Create a call to action.
Your marketing content should always end with a call for your followers or readers to respond or do something. These actions should also be focused on what you want to achieve for the month. Would you like to increase your mailing list? Do you intend to grow your number of followers? Are you gearing on adding more leads to your business? Your call for action should reflect your goal.
Bottom line:
Creating a marketing plan builds the foundation of your business. It solidifies what is important for you for that month. If you are authentic to show your audience what your business is all about, meaning that you always show up regardless of how many the number of likes or reactions you get, then you are strengthening your footing and mindset in how your business should go about.
