Different Types of Meditation with Lisa Tuthill

Meditation and the journey to healing are different for everyone. The reason for this is due to our various experiences and how we all have separate situations and pasts.

In this week’s episode, I am joined by Lisa, who comes from a very clinical therapy background. She bridges spirituality with therapeutic practices.

She shares with us her unique approach to working with clients. How she always made the therapy so holistic, and how to address their needs, traumas, and more.

The Different Kinds of Traumas

Our brains are fascinating, we hardly know anything about them. Some people also do not recognize that they've been in trauma, or have been in trauma.

And trauma comes in different forms, and in a way, we all have dealt with it.

The first step in this healing journey is trying to assess yourself and figure out these triggering factors that can cause you to shake or fall. And sometimes, we need help from professionals, especially when it comes to navigating these emotions from past traumas.

The process might take a lot of time and effort, and we're not going to be in control all of the time, but this is how life goes. The best we can do for ourselves is first to have awareness and establish our boundaries.

See The Patterns

In your healing journey, you'll come to realize that people say the same things, and situations tend to repeat. The more you digest these repetitions, the more things become predictable, especially in humans.

And you have the power to put these patterns to good use. You can either use it to avoid the same path, or you can play around with it a bit.

So go ahead and try to take a look at your patterns, and your expectations, and see how these pieces can change your way of life.

The Various Forms of Meditation

Meditation does not have to look like you sitting down, listening quietly to silent noise. And as humans, we tend to become busy or lost in our hectic schedules, so dedicating to that full guided meditation may become a handful at times.

But meditation can be in various forms. It can be cooking, going for a walk, or listening to music. It can be all sorts of things for anyone, as long as it makes you feel your sanctuary.

The key to this is to build and live a life where you can constantly find your peace, even in our mundane daily lives.

Embracing Your Vulnerability

In this day and age, we sometimes feel guilty for what we feel.

But you have to keep in mind that your healing is a journey, you are on this at the right time when you're ready to digest it. You are allowed to flush out your emotions in a safe space that is meant for you. And all that you feel, is valid.

You can have emotions around every single aspect of life. Be vulnerable because that is how you truly feel in the moment. And embrace every single part of you.

So don't ever apologize for your emotions. Understand your soul and where you are coming from, and your peace and positivity grow from there.
