Why Instagram is the best way to network online.
Have you ever come across the term, Instagram is the new business card?
Instagram is one of the leading social media platforms that connect you with people all over the world. It is my favorite, and I think it’s the easiest way for me to communicate with my clients. And there’s a lot of engagement on Instagram because almost everyone uses it.
So, if you’re planning to use Instagram, here is some advice I could give.
1. Set a time limit.
What is going to get your business in the future is separating some time for yourself to start communicating with your clients.
Think BIG.
What can you do every day to push your business forward? Start thinking about offers that you want. Prioritize your day.
What I do is set up a time limit of about 20 minutes. I will not just scroll through Instagram, I'm going to my ideal client hashtag and I will engage with those people that resonate well with me.
Then I'm done with my 20 minutes, and I put my phone away. And I can get back to whatever else I needed to do that day, which very likely might have been a hot bath, a book, a podcast, etc.
There are so many coaches out there that are going to tell you that you have to be lead-generating all the time to have a successful business. That's not true.
I started this business off of that 20 minutes a day, coupled with maybe networking once or twice a week at most. Sometimes it was like zero networking because I found them very exhausting. And I still got here.
2. Set your focus on connecting with the right people.
This is one of the pieces of advice that I used to see a lot of social media managers talk about. It’s something that Instagram promotes, frequently to business owners. And this is the boosting of your Instagram posts. So if you have a post that does well, Instagram will tell you to throw $5 at this post to help you reach 2000 more people.
The problem with this is that the boosted posts are not reaching any of your ideal clients at all. You have to focus on connecting with the right people and reaching the right clients.
Some coaches would try to make it seem so easy that you can just throw $5 at the platform, and all of a sudden, you're going to get all these clients. That money is so important in your first few weeks of business that I do not want you all just throwing it out on a platform and hoping for the best.
I want you guys to think about what is going to get you leads. Are you doing something every day to get more leads in?
Takeaway:
Learn to have a better grasp of what your business needs. And set up a time for yourself to find the right people.
I know it feels like you're flying blind when you don't always see those leads coming in. But just remember, if you put your head down and you work and you do things that maybe not everyone else feels comfortable doing. You’re going to reach your goals.
