What Would You Do if Everyone Told You Not to Do Something?

The process of achieving your goals may be exciting, but it also comes with a lot of fears and pressure. There is so much to do, a lot of decisions to make, and risks to take. And sometimes, we tend to limit our capabilities just because of what the people around us say or do.

However, with the right mindset, you become powerful and can achieve anything.

In this podcast episode, I am joined by Carina Hatton, who is a boutique owner and an online coach and mentor. She shares her journey in business and how she got through the difficulties that come with it. Through her story, you may gain new knowledge and tips that may help you go through your journey, whether in business or life.

It Can Get Really Bad, But Don’t Give Up.

Carina went through a lot of ups and downs in her business venture. From starting a donut franchise to entering the boutique world, she's been through it all.

She shared how, if she just stopped at her low point and just got another job, she would miss out on a lot and wouldn't be impacting so many lives.

So when chasing after your goals, we should accept that we might face some hardships in the long run. We wouldn't gain much success if we keep avoiding them.

But one thing to keep in your mind and spirit is to keep trying. You may not be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel on some days, but you still should know that there will be an end.

Another thing that may greatly impact our journey is the people around us. Sometimes, we get unhealthy feedback from others that hold us back. This is when you should train your mind to go stronger and have faith in yourself.

Don't let people dictate what you should do and don't let them tell you who you are, because only you get to decide that.

Focus on What’s Right.

Sometimes, we get so overwhelmed with the number of steps and hurdles that our progress starts to slow down or even stop.

Overwhelm leads to inaction. If you're not taking action on your dream and if you're overwhelmed, then it's now the time to start focusing more on what's right.

Carina shared with us a strategy that she calls "layering". In layering, you focus on only one thing at the moment, and when you're done and are getting good with it, you start going to the next and add another layer. You just keep building but at the same time focus on the now and the good things. This organizes your thoughts which makes the process flow smoothly and avoids panic.

So try doing things, one day at a time, one thing at a time.

Put Yourself Out There.

If you want to get your business to where you want it to be, you have got to get yourself in front of audiences.

For Carina, she finds it uncomfortable when it comes to being out there and connecting with others, but she remained strong and still did it. Because of this, she was able to build her network and started a podcast.

In the journey of business, uncomfortable situations are perfectly okay especially if you're in a growth phase.

Your Mind is in Control of your Success.

You'll have to keep in mind that no matter what happens, you'll be okay.

Even if you are scared to do things, you have to take a deep breath and know that it's all in your mind. Don't give up on your dream because of a temporary feeling. Train your mind to be bigger than those fears.

It's like the never-ending uphill battle between yourself and your brain. It may be terrible. But it's great at the same time.

Controlling your mind to think and focus more on what matters is also key to your success.

You cannot make life choices based on just money, it has to be about people. You cannot open a business just to be a millionaire. It has to be deeper than that. If you think about what's right and good, everything else falls into place.
