What to Do When Making a Pivot in Life with Maggie Lynn

Are you about to say goodbye to your business? Is it really the final ending or just the beginning of something new? If you’re an empathic business owner like me, this pivot could feel like a tug of war. A lot of resistance would have to happen to know that that business has brought you so much love and light.

When it comes to making major adjustments, especially with business, I learned so much from the life and experience of @maggielynncoaching as she transitioned her business from brick-and-mortar to an online brand. This podcast episode is the retelling of her story, and let’s learn through her ups and downs.

So, what should you do when you’re about to make a pivot? Here are some nuggets of Maggie Lynn’s wisdom in her own words.

Take Advantage of Life’s Challenges

Life, as they say, is full of surprises. There are circumstances that we cannot control because life happens. I had the biggest turnaround during the following year when I became a yoga studio owner. Long story short, the studio that I called my second home was sold to me by the previous owner.

I had zero ideas about how to manage a yoga studio. When I first started, I also had no idea how to manage a photography business. When you are given this kind of challenge, you need to collect tons of information for you to learn and grow to advance to a new status. It leads into a new direction such as buying a business, starting one, or going through similar processes.

During the pandemic, almost all of us faced difficulties at that time. In my case, I had a debate over whether or not to keep my yoga studio open. In the end, I decided to close since I couldn't make enough money to support myself and changed my focus to business coaching.

Change is one of life's biggest challenges no matter how it occurs. It may feel harsh and sometimes upsetting. However, experiencing loss gives you the chance to consider what is crucial for continuing.

We Need to Embrace Transition to Attract the Good

Setbacks are a constant part of our effort to improve ourselves. Learn to appreciate the connection that you attract. The transition of this whole journey became my motivation for why we got into business in the first place.

Applying the lessons gained from both businesses has helped me with one of the biggest obstacles in life. It is learning to master your mind. In yoga, the emphasis is on the breath, meditation, and thinking.

If you master the art of controlling your perspective, it allows you to see more creative things in your life choices. You will be fascinated to observe that growth as well. Understanding what is happening and how the transition might be affecting us can be useful when things change.

Bottomline: You Can Be the Best of Both Worlds!

Being able to achieve both of these areas can let you appreciate the changes you had to go through. Although we've been told our entire lives that we need to be good at one thing, you know, it's not true. Remember, we can succeed in multiple areas. You just have to accept your growth and learn to spread your wings.

What adjustments have you made lately? If this podcast episode enlightened your next journey, I’d love to hear about it in the comments.
