Too Busy to Podcast (And What to Do About It)

Is podcasting something that you should set aside when you’re getting busier in the business? My guest RoseMarie says no, and she will tell us why.

But first, here's a little bit of her story in her own narration.

So, I've been an executive assistant for over 15 years, supporting C-suite and board-level executives in the workplace. And I think a lot of people can connect to this narrative because when COVID happened, terrible things also happened to many of us. However, it did allow us to see what was possible. I didn't have to work from nine to five, then go home, feed my kid, and do the usual crazy routines. Yes, COVID just helped me realize what was possible. I started right away, lost my job after four months of employment, and was immediately thrust into full-time entrepreneurship. I jumped into this decision without knowing everything yet.

I've been doing it full-time for almost two years at this point. I got my start managing podcasts in early January 2022. Using my strengths as a PA, I went into planning and organizing projects. I truly specialized in podcast launches. So, in that regard, I am confident in what I do. I also assisted female coaches in launching podcasts that will catapult them into thought leadership roles and enable them to expand their audiences. This helps them boost their revenue among other things.

Podcasting Using the Four-Ps Framework

I get a lot of questions about what tips to share with someone who is not ready to invest in taking the big step but can be useful in the future. Going back to my beginnings, building a podcast involves a lot of different moving elements. It can seriously overwhelm individuals so this is where my framework enters the picture. As a result, I've got the four-part framework which relates to my early days as a PA and simplifies things that are overly complex.

The four Ps are heavily focused on producing, publishing, and promoting PrEP. These strategies and systems are two topics that I am extremely passionate about, so keep them the furthest thing from your mind.

What’s the Strategy Piece?

This strategy basically asks, "Who are you speaking to?" Who would be your perfect listener? What subjects will you be discussing? Considering that podcasting is here to stay, do I now have the time?

Yes, it exploded at the same time as or right before COVID, but it won't disappear and it will keep on growing. A podcast has the advantage of being adaptable in 101 different ways. However, including additional components entails some additional work. And that could be something to think about if you're doing it yourself.

Wait until you've worked with a few clients so you can identify their issues, problem areas, desires, and ambitions. Knowing their stories will be the content you produce for your podcast and how you will draw in your ideal client. Yes, you may attract your ideal listener that way and eventually turn them into your ideal or dream client.

Final Thoughts

The goal is you want your listeners to feel connected by your title and continue listening when you provide value. Then they DM you to ask how you would want to collaborate. Thus, the two main lessons are messaging and mindset. No regrets exist. But without a doubt, if I could start over, I would appreciate and prioritize these two things much more.
