"WeCrashed" The Looping Thought Analysis

I have shared the anxiety and how to get out of the spiral when I started to feel my lengthy emotions of fear kick in. I want to make it clear though that these emotions I’m feeling are good ones! Fear and anxiety help us keep our balance. They help stop us from making impulsive decisions in the business that could get us a negative outcome over time.

So when I feel these emotions, I tend to sit down and ask myself, “Where did this come from?”, “ Do these emotions benefit me?”

So, Sean and I watched this new TV series called “WeCrashed,” which is based on a true story about the WeWork company. This series shows what would happen to your business if you let your thoughts break your relationship with your clients.

Don’t Make Terrible Moves Just Because You’re Not Involved

Eventually, WeWork grew faster than Amazon and Alibaba and became a success overnight.
While all this good was happening in the business, the company CEO and his wife were going through a personal hurdle.

The wife wanted to be involved in the company but this wasn’t something the CEO saw as beneficial in terms of business. This made the wife feel like she was alone in the shadows like a trophy in a case. All she wanted was to be seen as a contributor to the business but she never felt valued or loved by the company and by her husband.

Unfortunately, she handled this so poorly and took her emotions out on the employees. Every time she hears something bad said about her, she would go to WeWork’s Human Resources department and fire people. Of course, the news got to the investors who were really upset that the wife’s poor control of emotions cost WeWork’s a lot of money.

This is what happens when you ignore a looping thought. It turns on you and it becomes your downfall. The wife should have spent more time talking to her partner about how she felt and the downfall wouldn't have happened. She could have fulfilled with another project instead of tearing things down in the company.

We Really Can’t Be That Successful Right Away

We can have a million dollars in the bank but if your thoughts are stuck in a prison, then it won’t really matter at the end of the day. The more you build on yourself, the more you build on your business.

Your business is a direct reflection of you. I’m not afraid to admit that there are tasks I don’t like doing. This is why I outsource these tasks to a virtual assistant or I get a copywriter to partner with in the business.

But again, where do I spend my energy? Why am I so tired? Two weeks ago, I was in a spiral. I was very tired and a week later, I’ve almost fallen back into a bad habit. When we have these thoughts for so long, our brains will begin to think it’s normal. Instead, what we should go back to is putting our energy towards manifesting our own life, building the business, and putting constant work with our clients.

Even When You’re In Those Spirals, You Are Still A Version Of Your Best Self

Let me be clear: even if you have looping thoughts or struggles, that doesn’t make you a terrible person. Don’t put yourself in a habit of beating yourself up. Clear your emotions, step back, rethink, and do something for yourself. Do self-care that keeps you the better version of yourself. Do things that you need to do and show up for what you need to show up to. Give yourself permission to slow things down because sometimes, that spiral comes in when you’re overworking or in an exhausting state. Don’t do things when you’re not in a normal state.

Takeaways

“WeCrashed” would have stayed as “WeWork” if the communication was there.

And again, fear and anxiety help us keep our balance. No matter how down you feel, take that as a sign to start building yourself up again and get things back on track.

“WeCrashed” is still ongoing on Apple TV and I recommend you guys to follow the series as this series is full of lessons we can all learn from and as an entrepreneur, we want to be prepared for stories like this could happen to your business as well.
