Taking Back Our Own Power
Are there moments in your life where you want to achieve something, but you are held back by fear? How do you overcome that, and what are the steps you take to reach your objectives?
In this week’s episode, I’m joined by the lovely Nicola, the owner of @luminousvista_advertising. And in the first part of this podcast, we talk about her journey and experiences as an ad manager.
We talked about her learnings from her work, and how she gathered the strength and power in reaching her goals.
The First Step
Nicola shared with us that the field of digital marketing is huge and multifaceted and comes with so many aspects that at first, it was overwhelming to her and that it did not make sense. There were moments when things went out of control.
But eventually, the pieces came in. It may not seem natural and easy at first, but she still took her leap of faith and continued to keep going on.
Just like in business and life, we all might have things that we want to do, but we feel fear about them. The secret to this is to gather courage and trust that what you are aiming for will happen. You don't have to force things, but trust in the process.
Take Your Intuitive Control
Just like what was mentioned, there are times when you should not force things, but rather allow it all to happen. That way, expanding your horizon would seem easier than thinking about what should be done.
You could try being alone and thinking internally, are you showing up how you want to, or are you the person you want to be? Listen more to your intuition, your Higher Self, or your expanded self.
This is a gift that we all have, and the more we can tap into it, the easier growth becomes.
Comfortable with Being Uncomfortable
Nicola shared her mantra which is: "Simple, easy, fun." If it isn't any of the three, then she doesn't want to take part in it.
This approach to work, business, or even in life can be super helpful because it allows you to attract the things you want and make everything go smoothly. But just because it's fun, that doesn't mean it won't get uncomfortable.
We should learn to accept being uncomfortable because it is part of our evolution and process.
And if you master feeling okay when you're outside of your comfort zone, everything else will feel simple, and that's where the fun continues.
The Kinds of Fear
When making decisions, there are times when we feel afraid or anxious when we do it or when it happens. But where is the fear coming from?
There are two sides of fear that Nicola shared with me. One is that natural fear where you want it to work out but you're scared of external factors. The other is the fear of being guided not to do, you're going in a direction that you do not want to go.
When faced with fear, you have to remember to go back to yourself and listen to what you are feeling and thinking.
You Make The Final Decision
You can listen to all the tips, advice, or lessons from anyone else, but at the end of the day, you decide how you should act and what steps you should take.
So the easiest thing you can do is kind of just go with the flow, sit and try different things, and see what works. And then you have a whole system that works for you. And you can move forward with that.
So despite all the thoughts and factors beyond yourself, you have the power to decide. You choose what works best for you, you choose your goals and the life and business that you want to create.
